What is aircraft cable?

No, aircraft cable IS NOT for aircrafts. I know, this is confusing. While it is strong enough to secure an airplane in place, its flexibility and strength is used for maritime applications such as sailboat rigging (life lines and standing rigging), pulleys and winches of differences sizes and types, stage rigging to lift and suspend lighting and heavy curtains, garage doors to lift and lower the door, exercise equipment, and zip lines.

Because there are many types of cable thicknesses, a cable manufacturer or distributor should be contacted before ordering your aircraft cable. You will want to verify with them the best type to order and inform them of any outside conditions that could affect the cable assemblies.

The highest quality of aircraft cable available is stainless steel. It is made up of corrosion resistant steel wires and therefore is the best available. It tests at almost the same pull strength as galvanized aircraft cable and lasts longer under caustic environments.
