Boating Season Is Almost Here...Are You Ready?

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. - Mark Twain
If you are like me, it doesn't take much to conjure up a picture of sailing on the sea with the wind blowing through your hair. Boating is a relaxing pastime and is known to improve mental alertness and an appreciation for the outdoors.

Assuring onboard safety should be a primary concern before taking your boat out. Nautical Know How has a comprehensive pre-season checklist for preparing your boat. It's worth looking at because it covers everything from general items to engine and sails. When you need to upgrade or replace your standing rigging or lifelines, Cable Industries is your best source for complete assemblies manufactured from high quality stainless steel cable and stainless or silicon bronze hardware.

Popular Turnbuckle Choices for Cable Railings

Cable Industries carries a wide variety of turnbuckle styles for use in commercial, residential and industrial cable railing systems.. Because specific turnbuckles work best for different applications, below are some of our best-selling turnbuckles and their recommended usage.

Classic Jaw and Swage Turnbuckle
The Classic Jaw and Swage Turnbuckle is an excellent choice for straight runs or at an angle. A clevis pin in the jaw attaches to eyes, tabs or in a channel. It is best if used with a Toggle Jaw.

Classic Deck Toggle and Swage Turnbuckle
The Classic Deck Toggle and Swage Turnbuckle can be mounted on any flat surface and is held in place by two tabs suitable for through bolting. The deck toggle can articulate 140 degrees. Best if used with a Deck Terminal.

Classic Button and Swage Turnbuckle
The Classic Button and Swage Turnbuckle has a clean simple look with no jaw. It must be used on a straight run and attached in a through hole with the button on the backside of the baluster. Best if used with a Button Terminal.

Classic Ball End and Swage Turnbuckle
The Classic Ball End and Swage Turnbuckle is made to accept the angles of stairways. The Ball End allows the turnbuckle to integrate itself to your desired angle. The ball allows this turnbuckle to gimbal in its mount. Best if used with a Ball End Terminal.

Classic Swage to Swage Turnbuckle
Appearing in the middle of the cable, the Classic Swage to Swage Turnbuckle needs a fitting at each end to make a complete assembly. You need to use three fittings per cable run, but it makes for a distinctive look. Best if used with a Toggle Jaw.
